Alcohol Concern Zambia (ACZ), is a non-for-profit Zambian organization whose work is focused on helping to prevent alcohol related harm among the youth and young adults in Zambia and in reducing its negative consequences on individuals as well as in families, households and the wider community at large. We aim to achieve this by providing public education programs that highlight the potential risks and consequences of alcohol abuse and misuse amongst those that take to drinking particularly among the youth many who take to drinking without the realization of what they are getting into.

The focus of our work

Our work is focused on

  • Working to Protect young people, children and the unborn child from alcohol Harm
  • Awareness creation to reduce injuries and death from alcohol harm related traffic crashes
  • Prevent alcohol related harm among adults and reduce the negative impact of alcohol in households, families, schools, Institutions of higher learning and at workplaces.
  • Awareness creation on the impact of harmful and hazardous alcohol consumption and on appropriate consumption patterns.
  • Advocate for policy and regulatory measures that minimize and alleviate harm on individuals and people that use alcohol.
  • Develop, Support and maintain a research database for evidence based programming.
